Vision and Values

Our Vision

We are happy, well-rounded people who achieve excellence by continually reflecting to make our best even better.

This means that we aim for every pupil to achieve the best they possibly can in both their attainment and personal development.

We are people who treat others the way we would like to be treated.

This is achieved through fostering positive relationships and developing social emotional skills including empathy.

Our Aim

Gorseland’s caring staff provide secure and simulating classroom environments in which each child can develop a love of learning whilst building their self-confidence, independence and sense of personal responsibility. This enables our pupils to end their journey with us as hard working, resilient and considerate individuals who feel proud of their achievements, having successfully acquired the knowledge, skills and attitudes to prepare them for their future.

Our Values

Gorseland pupils are expected to be ready, respectful and safe throughout the school day and beyond.
Our children learn about the ‘Steps to Success’ to help them become successful and reflective learners, friends and citizens in society. These principles were designed by Chris Quigley and are taught, noticed and celebrated across our school.
We also ensure that the British Values are integrated in our ethos, curriculum and wider opportunities to ensure that all pupils are prepared for life in modern Britain.
