Wrap Around Childcare

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club is open from 7.30am daily and operates from our main school hall. Children of all ages attending Gorseland Primary School are welcome to attend. Children should be dropped off at the main school office where a member of staff will greet you, sign your child in and take any messages that may need to be passed on to the class teacher.

Children are given a varied choice of fruit, low salt and sugar cereals, wholemeal, granary and white bread, low fat spreads and jams and low-fat yogurt for breakfast.

A large variety of activities are on offer for the children following breakfast. For example, arts and crafts, social communication games, reading, table tennis, music, dance and homework support.

At the end of the session, early years and key stage one children are handed over to their class teacher and key stage two children make their own way to their classroom.

Breakfast club offers children a calm, fun start to their day in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Breakfast club fees are £5.00 per session.

After School Club

After School Club is based in our school halls and surrounding areas. Early years and key stage one children are dropped off at After School Club and key stage two children make their own way there. A member of staff greets children and signs them in on arrival.

Children in the After School Club enjoy snacks such as: fresh fruit, low sugar and salt crackers and breadsticks with cheese and hummus, dried fruit, low-fat yogurt and fruit loaf. They are then free to make their own play choices. Active group games outdoors are encouraged, particularly for those children that will not have had a mid afternoon break during the school day. We fully appreciate that for some children a long day at school can be very tiring and there are plenty of opportunities to engage in calm activities such as reading, drawing, construction activities, listening to music or relaxing with friends.
