We follow a curriculum that helps the children to grow physically, mentally and emotionally. We plan subjects to make the curriculum cohesive and try to bring learning alive. We plan time for children to take part in the Arts and are proud of their achievements in Art, Music, Drama and Sports. Children are encouraged to take an active part in their own learning and to work individually and collaboratively. We celebrate their achievements through sharing assemblies, the Excellence Book and class discussions. They are given regular feedback about their achievements and are given targets for their ‘next steps’.
We teach phonics in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to help the children develop their reading. We use the Letters and Sounds program along with the Jolly Phonics program. More information can be found here.
