Information For Parents to our Information for Parents page. We endeavour to give parents all the information and services needed to keep up to date with the school.

Gorseland Primary School will be upgrading the Parentmail service to improve our communication facility with parents. We will now be offering many new services via the free Parentmail App for smart phones or our new parentmail website. The upgrade will allow us to provide more ways for parents to order and pay for school related items. This will include Credit and Debit Card payments as well as PayPal payments. As part of our plan to modernise school services we will be providing online parents evening management as well as offering all permissions and questionnaires online. We hope that this will give parents more control and keep parents up to date with all school related matters.

School Door Security

Gorseland Primary School has recently invested in a ID Card security system to control the access to the school building. As part of our duty of care for children, staff and equipment, only people authorised at the front office are allowed to be in the building during the school day.
If you need to speak to someone in the school, please follow the Yellow painted path from the playground to the front office where our staff will be happy to help with any queries.

Photo Permissions

Gorseland Primary School wishes to celebrate children’s achievements and school events with parents.  Throughout the school year, the children are involved in many exciting events and today’s digital world allows us to share their experiences with you as they happen.
As part of their everyday learning, the children use iPads and digital cameras to record their learning and experiences.  At Gorseland, we now have the facility to share these with you via class blogs and our website.  Over the next academic year we plan to redesign and launch a new website aimed at giving you the information you need and sharing the experiences the children have.
We would also like to provide coverage and highlights of school events like Sports Days, Christmas performances and the Take One Picture open gallery, as well as providing photo books and film projects for Year 6 pupils.
At Gorseland, we sometimes have the opportunity to promote events in local newspapers.  This forges and extends links between the school and the local community.
All school media is taken on a school owned Nikon camera and processed on secure computers within the school.
When we use photographs or videos of pupils, we will only use first names in any accompanying text or photo caption.  Please note that external media may use first and surnames in their publications/broadcasts.  We would endeavour to ensure that they only use first names.

The school seeks your permission to the following:

External - for example, photographs in local newspapers/taken by outside agencies, etc.
Internal - photographs taken for display boards/use in school
Schools Events and Productions - for example, photographs/videos taken by school/ parents during assemblies, Sports Days, productions, etc.
Website – photographs/videos uploaded to the school’s website
Van Cols – individual and family group photographs taken by an approved photography company
Class Photographs – taken in the Summer Term for parents/carers to purchase
Year 6 Film Week – videoing in school to be made into professional films (Year 6 only)
