Sandwiches

 We became sandwich makers on Thursday afternoon. First, we washed our hands and prepared the tables to work on. Next, we spread the butter on the bread and chose our fillings. After that, we very carefully cut the salad ourselves using sharp knives. Finally, we ate our delicious sandwiches. 
 
 

Pirates

On Monday, we went on an adventure to tell the story of a group of pirates who sailed the seas looking for treasure. This developed into amazing story planning and later in the week the children produced superb independent writing based on their own pirate ideas.
 

Traffic!

As part of our maths learning, we completed a traffic survey near Dobbs Lane. We used a tally chart to record our findings.
 

Up and away!

We have been learning about the history of flight. To start our lesson, we completed role-play based on going on an aeroplane to a holiday destination. Here are some of the pictures of our exciting journey!
Our pilots were ready for the flight.

The passengers waited in the queue for the flight to board.
The cabin crew were ready to go!
The passengers enjoyed their in-flight snacks served by the cabin crew.

Experience Christmas

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon at St Michael's Church in Martlesham to hear the Christmas story and take part in festive activities.
 

Imaginary Transport

In Literacy, we designed our own transport taking inspiration from familiar vehicles we already knew. We used playdough to make our models and then used talk for writing to sell of inventions to the rest of the class. At the end of the week, we wrote super non-fiction reports about our vehicles.

Grace Darling

This week we have been learning about Grace Darling. She was very brave and saved many people from a sinking ship late one stormy night. We have been acting out the story, writing diary entries and creating art work inspired by Grace.
  

  
 

Transport Museum Trip

As part of our topic, we visited Ipswich Transport Museum to find out how vehicles have changed over time. We explored the buses, trams, bikes and fire engines. Thank you to the parents who came with us and the volunteers at the museum for a super afternoon!
