All about Autumn!

Our topic this week has been all about Autumn!

On Tuesday we went on an Autumn walk around the school to see if we could spot any signs of Autumn!!

We noticed lots of brown, red and yellow leaves on the floor.

Look how many leaves we collected!

On our walk we used our senses and wrote down things we could smell, see, hear and touch.

We used our notes to write sentences about Autumn in our Literacy books.
Here are some of our sentences:

'The leaves are crunchy.'
'When it's Autumn the leaves fall down.'
'The pinecones are spikey.'

After our Autumn walk we did some artwork relating to what we saw.

On Wednesday we had the opportunity to taste some Autumn foods!
The food we tasted were; curly kale, celery, blackberries, apples, pears and carrots.

In groups we used our senses to talk about the smell, feel, look and taste of each food.

We then wrote a descriptive sentence about each food in our books.
Here are some of our sentences:

'The kale felt spikey.'
'The pear felt smooth and soft.'
'The carrot tasted very crunchy.'
'The blackberries felt squidgy.'
'The celery felt bumpy.'
