Art Work Inspired By Cartouches

Cartouches were used by the Ancient Egyptians in tombs. It was thought that it would help the souls of the dead find their way back to their bodies which lay in their tombs.We studied hieroglyphics and then designed our own cartouches which bore our names.Using our designs, we sculpted our own cartouches in clay. Here is some of our work below.


We also made printing blocks from our cartouche designs and made press and reduction prints from the blocks. Some of the children' work is displayed below.
