Turkey time!

posted 10 Dec 2017, 05:57 by Amy Churchyard

We put our handmade 'Christmas Tree' hats on and were ready to tuck into a yummy roast dinner!
We enjoyed pulling crackers with our friends and talking about the things we do on Christmas day.
Thank you to all the kitchen staff for working so hard!

The travelling book fair!

posted 25 Nov 2017, 08:59 by Amy Churchyard

We all enjoyed taking some time to visit the book fair and to explore the books they had on offer! We enjoyed sharing some of our favourites and exploring some new good reads that may make their way onto our bookshelves at home!

Christmas Experience

posted 21 Nov 2017, 08:03 by Emily Vale

We had a great trip to the church today. We learnt all about the Christmas story of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and the birth of baby Jesus. We thought carefully about the meaning of Christmas and discussed how we celebrate Christmas with our families.

Hooray for Pudsey!

The children made a great effort, coming to school wearing spots and making their £1 donation for an excellence cause!
We had a great day with Bumble Bees and Owls teaming up to spend the day together doing lots of activities. From writing books on fundraising ideas to painting Pudsey pictures we were super engrossed in all that we did!

1st Year 1 Assembly

posted 16 Nov 2017, 09:58 by Amy Churchyard

Thanks to everyone who came to watch our first Year 1 class assembly! I'm sure most of you reading this are aware we had a few technical issues but the children were amazing and they definitely displayed 'the show must go on!' kind of attitude! Those that spoke did so so clearly which was fab and everyone joined in with the songs :) We will keep the missing one up our sleeves for next time!

Big Maths Beat That!

Our Learn-its quiz is a hit! The children love the build up as we listen and have a boogie to the jingle! They then concentrate so hard for the 90 seconds constantly working out, recording or checking their answers.

We're going on an ALIEN hunt!

posted 3 Nov 2017, 11:25 by Amy Churchyard

We had a great morning at Rendlesham forest where we walked the UFO trail. We were excellent explorers and had our eyes peeled for any signs of Alien presence! The children were fab and successfully completed the route with smiles on their faces! We even got a chance to play on the equipment which was a fab end to the trip. Thanks to all of our parent volunteers for experiencing the walk with us!

A crash landing

posted 3 Nov 2017, 11:14 by Amy Churchyard

We were shocked when we arrived at school to discover a space rocket having landed in our classroom!
Everyone was keen to talk about what we could hear and see in our rather strange classroom environment!
It was amazing how much knowledge the children were keen to share about, space, the solar system and dare i say it.... ALIENS!
They were keen to get busy and create their own Alien hats and to paint their idea of what an Alien looks like.

The children and staff loved dressing up to raise money for the well deserved charity Save the Children.
Everyone enjoyed talking about their choice of costume. The race was a real success with everyone completing the course with a smile (even the frog!)

We have been exploring the Hindu festival of Diwali. We have enjoyed looking at their traditions and comparing them to our own celebrations.
We enjoyed making our own celebratory biscuits which inspired some fabulous instruction writing.
